How artists get on stage in other cities

We are artists, and we like hearing from artists. So we are asking a question we keep running into ourselves: how do you get a date in a city where nobody knows you yet?

Almost every independent artist in Europe deals with this, and almost nobody has good information about it. Venues of every size work differently in every country, and most of what you need to know you only find out after you have played there.

This survey takes about two minutes. Every question is a tick-box, no name needed, and it is open to artists of every discipline — music, theatre, dance, comedy, circus, performance.
