Behind the Scenes – How We Create Artistic Residencies

At Artifesto, residencies are at the heart of our practice. They are more than workspaces—they are incubators of connection.

But what actually happens during a residency? Artists arrive with an idea, and through workshops, collaboration, and mentoring, those ideas are transformed into performances, installations, or cross-disciplinary projects. They live and create together, exchanging skills and perspectives that they later bring back to their communities.

Residencies are also about hospitality: providing artists with the tools, environment, and emotional space they need to take risks and innovate. For Artifesto, accessibility and inclusion are central—spaces are designed to be welcoming to diverse backgrounds and abilities.
