INCLUSIVE TOOLS FOR ASSISTING PEOPLE WITH BLINDNESS AND VISION DISABILITIES TO BE EMPLOYED IN THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES | Erasmus+theavios.eu

People with blindness and vision disabilities often face barriers in the workplace, particularly in the theatre industry where employment opportunities are limited. This project aims to address these issues by training producers, actors, directors, and stage technicians on how to create and deliver inclusive theatrical performances by adopting inclusive tools that can assist people with blindness and vision disabilities to participate in theatrical performances. The project will be implemented over a period of 18 months. The objectives we would like to achieve are:
- To promote the use of inclusive tools that enable people with blindness and vision disabilities to participate in theatrical performances as actors, directors, and backstage crew.
- To train theatre professionals, performers, actors, directors, and stage technicians on how to use these inclusive tools effectively.
- To raise awareness among theatre companies, and disability organizations on the importance of inclusiveness in the theater industry and promote the employment of people with disabilities.
- To promote the social inclusion of people with vision disabilities through cultural activities.
Inclusion and diversity:
By promoting inclusive technologies that enable those with vision impairments and blindness to participate in theatrical performances, this initiative seeks to promote inclusion. The project will aid in eliminating workforce gaps by lowering the barriers to employment for those with disabilities in the theater business.
Employability:
The objectives of this proposal align with the Erasmus+ priority for employability by promoting inclusive tools that can help people with blindness and vision disabilities to be employed in the theatre industry. By providing assistive technology tools and training to theatre professionals and performers, the project promotes the employment of people with disabilities in the theatre industry, which can lead to broader employment opportunities in the cultural sector.
Digital Transformation:
The project involves the use of assistive technology tools to enable people with blindness and vision disabilities to participate in theatrical performances. This contributes to the digital transformation of the theatre industry by incorporating digital tools in an inclusive way.
The project will provide training for theatre professionals and performers on how to use inclusive tools effectively. This will foster quality and innovation in education and training in the theatre industry, promoting inclusive practices that can be replicated in other contexts.
Expected results:
Increased awareness of the importance of inclusivity and employment opportunities for people with blindness in the theatre industry. The development of a replicable model for inclusive theatre that can be adopted by theatre companies.
